Keeping You Safe During COVID-19

At Charlotte Dental Arts, we are doing everything we can to keep you safe and healthy during your visit. This means implementing special COVID-19 procedures that go beyond CDC guidelines to safeguard both our patients and staff. Here are the precautions we are taking in our office.

Utilizing a Fogging Machine with HOCL – Proven to Eliminate COVID-19

One of the latest steps we have taken is the introduction of a fogging system that utilizes Electrolysed Salt Water also known as Hypochlorous Acid (HOCL). HOCL is a highly effective and intrinsically safe, non-toxic, eco-friendly sanitizing agent that is 80 times stronger than bleach and kills bacteria and deactivates viruses in seconds. HOCL is produced with just water, table salt and electricity. In fact, your body produces it naturally when it senses a bacterial or viral invasion. HOCL has been proven effective in killing the COVID-19 virus and is lethal to all known dangerous bacteria and viruses that threaten our lives today.
HOCL is extremely safe! You can spray HOCL anywhere and it will not damage people, furniture, counters, etc. It has numerous medical uses including wound care, eye care and respiratory infections as well as being used in grocery stores to prevent legionnaires disease. It is being used in hospitals, hotels and restaurants as an anti-viral agent.

To make our dental office one of the safest in the area, at Charlotte Dental Arts, we go above and beyond CDC guidelines by using HOCL to fog our treatment rooms, reception areas and waiting room after patients leave as an additional measure to greatly reduce any risk of contamination. Dentistry has always been at the top of the infection control in health care so once again we are leading the way!

In-Car Screenings

We will come out to your car to perform a COVID-19 screening, plus you have the option to continue waiting there until your scheduled appointment, avoiding time in the waiting room completely.

ADA Approved Screening Questionnaire

Before your appointment, we will go through an ADA approved questionnaire, which will be able to flag potential warning signs so we can prevent COVID-19 contamination.

Temperature Checks

Each patient’s temperature will be taken before their appointment to check for a fever.

Plexiglass Screens

At check-in and check-out, we have placed plexiglass screens that will stand between you and our staff, acting as extra protection against COVID-19.

Increased PPE

All staff will wear masks at all times, including face shields on clinical staff. We are also using surgical caps and plastic on our chairs.

Hourly Cleaning

On top of using our fogging machine, we are wiping down our waiting room, along with doorknobs and handles, every hour.
